SUPPORT
-
Calhoun County schools have a 59% free and reduced lunch rate, meaning students have less expendable income in their home and they are not currently so privileged as to be able to afford field trip opportunities. This opportunity brings the service to them, free of charge.
-
Shakespeare wrote to have his works seen and performed, so professional performances aid in comprehension, thanks to professional attention to context, delivery, action and staging. We will work with teachers to make season selections to ensure that the works we perform match your future curriculum.
-
Our regional performing arts students do not have as many opportunities to gain professional experience in the field of their choice (carpentry, costuming, lighting design, painting, acting, etc.), so we strive to provide work and training opportunities for students pursuing work in the performing arts within their own community.
-
We strive to bring professional theatre back to Anniston, so we recruit talent from across the United States to work with us, while paying competitive salaries for professional contracts, spanning one month each.
Any contribution helps make art accessible. If you would like to support, please review the following opportunities and email shakespeareprojectal@gmail.com to say “I want to be a part!”
In-Kind Support
We also seek in-kind contributions of lighting and sound equipment, costuming materials and fabrics, lumber and hardware, and volunteer services to aid in the completion of the build and provide resources for future seasons.
Volunteer in the Guild
Volunteer Services needed include shop assistants, for both scenery and costumes, help with loading into Anniston Performing Arts Center, ushers and house managers, host families, and striking the set upon completion of the show run.
